Industries
AEO by industry
HelloWorld does Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) for three kinds of established company: B2B software and services firms, building-products manufacturers and merchants, and online pharmacies and health and beauty retailers.
In each one, more buyers now ask ChatGPT, Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode, Copilot, Perplexity or Claude for a shortlist before they reach your website. We find out whether you are on it, do the work that moves it, and prove it with a monthly scorecard.

Three industries
Which industries do we work with?
We chose industries where the purchase is considered, buyers research before they make contact, and the evidence that AI shapes the shortlist is strongest.

B2B software, tech and servicesBe on the shortlist before the first sales call
82% of B2B software buyers acted on a recommendation from an AI assistant in the last two years. The winning vendor is on the day-one shortlist 95% of the time. Being in the AI answer is being on the shortlist.
Building productsBe the product the AI quotes when specifiers ask
More than two in five construction professionals have built AI into their daily work, and searching for technical information is one of the main uses. Much of the data they need is locked in PDFs, and some merchant sites turn AI readers away. Both are fixable.
Online pharmacy, health and beautyBe in the feed, or be invisible
About 65% of ChatGPT product picks now come from merchant feeds, up from about 8% before 10 July 2026. For a retailer, the Merchant Center feed is now an AEO asset. For a pharmacy, every piece of content must also pass the medicines rules.

Why AI shortlists matter
What do these industries have in common?
AI decides the shortlist before anyone visits your site, and most companies can't see it happen. Search Console shows AI impressions but no clicks.
45% of marketing leaders say they cannot measure AI visibility at all (Semrush, June 2026).
- The answer is the shortlist. About 75% of users pick the brand the AI names first (Semrush and Growth Memo, July 2026).
- What others say counts most. 84% of AI citations come from earned media, and paid placements account for 0.3% (Muck Rack, May 2026).
- Each assistant has its own sources. 91% of citations appear in only one of ChatGPT, Perplexity or AI Overviews (Growth Memo).
- Answers move. In SparkToro's tests, the chance of getting the same brand list twice was under 1 in 100 (SparkToro). That is why we measure every month, not once.
How it works
How does the work run, in any industry?
One path, three stages. Every client starts with the audit.

AI Visibility Audit
30 buyer prompts (50 on the extended audit) scored 0 to 3 across five assistants, plus a technical, on-site and off-site baseline and a phased 90-day plan. A fixed fee, credited in full against the programme if you sign within 60 days.
AEO Implementation Programme
Foundations, third-party proof and answer content, with scorecards at weeks 4, 8 and 12 and a before-and-after write-up at week 13. Quoted from what the audit finds, in three monthly instalments.
AEO Retainer
Fresh content, tracking, outreach and launch support every month. Three tiers (Core, Growth and Scale) by how much we track and publish, tracker included. Six-month first term, then rolling monthly.

Other sectors
Is your industry not on the list?

Other considered-purchase sectors are welcome to talk to us, including private higher education, private healthcare groups and larger professional-services firms.
The method is the same: agree the prompts your buyers ask, measure where you stand, then do the work that moves it. Regulated sectors get a compliance sign-off step in every workflow.
FAQ
AEO by industry: common questions
Which industries does HelloWorld work with?
We work with three: B2B software, tech and services companies; building-products manufacturers and builders' merchants; and online pharmacies and health and beauty retailers. We also talk to other considered-purchase sectors, such as private higher education, private healthcare groups and larger professional-services firms.
Why these three industries?
In each one, buyers research a considered purchase before they contact anyone, and AI assistants now shape that research. In B2B software, 82% of buyers acted on a recommendation from an AI assistant in the last two years (G2, July 2026). In retail, most ChatGPT product picks now come from merchant feeds (Profound, via Relevant Audience). In construction, professionals use AI to search for technical information (NBS).
Is AEO different in each industry?
The foundations are the same everywhere: AI assistants must be able to read your site, and the facts about you must agree across the web. What changes is where the proof lives. For software, it is roundups, review platforms and YouTube. For building products, it is technical data and specification sources. For retail, it is product feeds, reviews and branch listings.
Do you work in the UK as well as Ireland?
Yes. We are based in Ireland, and the extended AI Visibility Audit covers Ireland and the UK in one baseline.
Who does the work?
HelloWorld is a solo studio led by Bryan Hurley, with more than ten years in web development and a background in tech and education. We take on a small number of clients, so the person you meet is the person doing the work.
Where do we start?
Start with the free AI access check to see whether AI assistants can read your site at all. It takes about a minute. When you want the full picture, book an AI Visibility Audit.
